SAINT PAUL, MN (August 25, 2017) – The Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce today announced the finalists for the Leaders in Local Government awards and Elected Official of Note winner. The awards honor organizations that exemplify and demonstrate innovation, excellence, and success in local government. Judge Margaret Marrinan, Ramsey County, has been named the Elected Official of Note. The Leaders in Local Government award winners will be announced at the Political Leadership Luncheon on September 13, 2017, at the University of St. Thomas. The 2017 Leaders in Local Government Award finalists are: Business Retention and Expansion City of Saint Paul Innovation Cabinet: Creation of Full Stack Saint Paul City of South Saint Paul: Activating commercial and business development City of West St. Paul: Revitalization of Robert Street Communications City of Roseville Police Department: Community outreach City of Saint Paul: Vibrant Places and Spaces initiative Financial Performance City of Arden Hills Departments of Finance and Administration: Promoting transparency and good use of tax dollars City of Oakdale Finance Department: Savvy financial management while providing quality-of-life services Dakota County: Excellent financial management Planning and Land Zoning City of Arden Hills City Council: Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant / Rice Creek Commons development planning City of Saint Paul Ford Site Planning Team: Planning for a 21st Century Community Cities of Maplewood, Roseville and Saint Paul: Vision planning for Rice-Larpenteur area Saint Paul Public Schools Board of Education: Innovation in allocating resources Public Works City of Little Canada and Ramsey County: Collaboration on the reconstruction of Centerville Road City of Saint Paul Board of Water Commissioners: Overall operations and product City of Saint Paul Mayor’s Office: Support for Minnesota Public Radio’s 50th anniversary celebration Winner: Elected Official of Note Judge Margaret Marrinan, Ramsey County Recognized for her years of service to the Ramsey County Courts and County Attorney’s office, and her engagement in civic leadership roles around Ramsey County.
