Matt Kramer, the President of the Saint Paul Area Chamber Commerce (SPACC), has announced that he will be leaving the Chamber to join the University of Minnesota as Vice President for University Relations subject to the approval of the Board of Regents. Matt’s last day at the Chamber will be February 21st. The Chamber’s Board of Directors will meet to determine the process and parameters of a search to replace Mr. Kramer. That process will begin immediately. “While I’m excited for my new challenges with the University of Minnesota,” said Matt Kramer, “I’m going to miss the excellent staff and all the great people I’ve gotten a chance to work with at the Saint Paul Area Chamber. We are proud of what this chamber has contributed in our 149 years. It is in excellent shape financially and with membership, and had a terrific year in 2016. Whomever is chosen to take this position is taking over a strong organization with a great team of people.” “We appreciate Matt’s contributions to the Chamber, and we are sad to see him leave.” said Jeff Pellegrom, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Matt has dedicated the last 6 years of his life to building and growing the Saint Paul Area Chamber and we wish him well in his new position. The Chamber Board and I will act quickly to find the next President so that the Chamber does not lose any momentum and continues to be a strong advocate for business interests in the East Metro. We have taken steps so the Chamber will not skip a beat during the interim period until a new president is found.”
