Saint Paul’s Chief of Police has been in his role for one year now. Hear his perspective on his first year, and get answers to these questions: What is the impact of crime on business and how does our police force work with businesses on safety issues? How does the police department engage with the community? What efforts are they taking to diversify the police department?

Speaker: Chief Todd Axtell Saint Paul Police Chief Todd Axtell has served the citizens of Saint Paul for 28 years in patrol, investigative, and administrative assignments. In June 2016, he was appointed Chief of Police. Chief Axtell has a B.A. in criminal justice from Metropolitan State University and holds a Master’s Degree in police leadership, administration and education from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is a graduate of the 207th session of the FBI National Academy and the 47th session of the DEA’s Drug Unit Commanders’ Academy. Chief Axtell is a member of the Rotary Club of Saint Paul.
